TEHRAN Iran's national soccer team demolished Guam in the World Cup 2002 qualifying match.
Iran hosted Guam in Takhti Stadium, Tehran, giving the underdog a bitter 19-0 defeat, with eight goals in the first half.
The scorers of Asian heavyweight were Farhad Majidi (12, 75, 79); Davoud Abbassi (13); Ali Karimi (19, 55, 58, 86); Karim Baqeri (23, 33, 48, 67, 77) Nikbakht Vahedi (31); Ali Daei (34, 43, 53, 72) and Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh (69).
Some 25,000 fans watched the game in Tehran.
